“AW designed the flagship location for this gourmet pizza restaurant and bar as a kit of parts that has become the basis of its brand, subsequently recreated in another Boston area location.
The restaurant’s aesthetic of minimalism and authenticity is expressed in the finishes used throughout the space. Physical comfort and visual pleasure are derived from a harmony of seemingly unsympathetic and unconventional materials: steel, concrete, and cherry wood. Joinery and fasteners are deployed to expand understanding of the craftsmanship required in this design and construction, and to reflect the ethos of this restaurant’s brand.”
