Megan Panzano, Architect and Educator designed a rooftop playground for children with a nautical theme in mind. We collaborated with StudioPM to develop non-traditional elements for the playground that comply with Massachusetts code guidelines.  From certain view points the objects can appear to be familiar shapes, but as you move to a new angle, the parallax of the fixed play elements shifts and suddenly you notice that the geometry isn’t familiar at all. This encourages you to interact for a moment and discover something new that you perhaps hadn’t expected. It creates an added level of play and interaction. Part of the development process was to use hidden connections and support elements to ensure clean lines and durability. The HDPE play elements have welded plastic seams instead of visible screws and bolts. High Sees is recognized among progressive play spaces.
